HAROLD PITMAN

VALDESE – Harold Pitman, 74, died Saturday, October 27, 2001 at Gateway 
Nursing Home. A native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Bob and 
Bertie Greene Pitman. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Inez 
Pitman and Irene Pitman; and one brother, Herbert Pitman. He was a
member of Faith Chapel Baptist Church and a textile worker.
Survivors include one brother, Paul Pitman, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Jack Callahan officiated. Burial followed in 
Old Cane Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the 
service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
