FRANK PITMAN
SPRUCE PINE – Frank Pitman, 79, of the Beaver Creek community, died Friday, 
February 8, 2002 at his home. He was the son of the late Jeff and Zora 
Burleson Pitman, and husband of the late Grace Pitman. A member of Mt. Carmel 
Baptist Church, he was retired from the Town of Spruce Pine maintenance 
department.

Survivors include his daughters, Margaret Renfro of Spruce Pine, Loretta 
Bennett of Asheville and Norma Maskell of Connecticut; a son, Tommy Pitman of 
Spruce Pine; sisters, Myrtle Pitman of Spruce Pine, and Mary Wise of Linville 
Falls; brother, Sam Pitman of Marion; five grandchildren; eight great 
grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. 
Revs. Harold Grindstaff and Monroe Cooke officiated. Burial followed in the 
church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Webb 
Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
