MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Carrie Mosley Peterson, 26 Apr 2003 ----¤¤¤¤---- Carrie M. Peterson Carrie Mosley Peterson, 88, Dry Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Hillview Health Center, Elizabethton. Mrs. Peterson was a native of Bakersville, N.C., and a daughter of the late George and Ellen Bowman Mosley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Peterson; three brothers, Jess Mosley, Ben Mosley and Frank Mosley; and two sisters, Francis Street and Irene Yelton. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Russell Peterson, of the home; a son, James G. Peterson, Piney Flats; two daughters, Mary Miller, Elizabethton, and Carolyn Sue Ball, Hamilton, Ohio; four grandsons, Jeffery Crowe, Michael Peterson, Duane Peterson and Lee Ball; two granddaughters, Ginger Campbell and Crystal Ball; and three sisters, Madeline Pitman, Mae Banks and Olene Putman, all of Bakersville, N.C. Four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons also survive. Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 928-6111, is in charge of arrangements. PETERSON -- Funeral services for Carrie Mosley Peterson, 88, Dry Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, April 26, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy McCurry and the Rev. Alan Simerly officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Monte Vista Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
