JOHN R. PETERSON 

BARTOW, FL - John R. Peterson, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004 
at his home. A native of Spruce Pine, he was the owner of 
Peterson's Dry Cleaning in Bartow. He was a Merchant Marine 
veteran of WWII and a member, deacon and choir member of First 
Presbyterian Church of Bartow. He was a member of Bartow Golf 
Club and past president of Peace River Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny Peterson of the home; two sons, 
Randy Peterson of Bartow and Jim Peterson of Hazelhurst, GA; a 
daughter, Lynne Spears of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren; and 
four great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian 
Church of Bartow. Rev. James B. Hatch officiated. The family 
received friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
