BESS JOHNSON REEDY 

SPRUCE PINE - Bess Johnson Reedy, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 in the 
Life Care Center of Banner Elk. She was the daughter of the late Gete and 
Hallie Houston Johnson, and the wife of the late Estel Reedy. She was also 
preceded in death by four sisters, Carlene Buchanan, Helen Setzer, Wilma Olson 
and Edith Anderson; and two brothers: Ralph Johnson and Harry Johnson. She was 
of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four nephews, Anthony Setzer of Ft. Myers, Fla., Lee 
Buchanan of Forest City, Barry Setzer of Blowing Rock, and Randy Setzer of 
Statesville. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations 
may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-
2454; or Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. 
Yancey Funeral Service assisted the family.
