JOSEPHINE LEDFORD REESE 

SPRUCE PINE - Josephine Ledford Reese, of Ed Ledford Lane, died Friday, Feb. 3, 
2006 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Edgar 
and Maggie Stafford Ledford. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, 
Ralph and Edward Ledford; and three sisters, Evelyn Ledford, Anna Faye Buchanan 
and Norma Sulling. She attended Spruce Pine Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Reese of the home; daughters, Debbie 
Hollifield and Susan Phillips, both of Spruce Pine, Janet Grindstaff of 
Burnsville, Sheila Maynor of Nebo, and Donna McClellan of Marion; a son, Todd 
McClellan of Kings Mountain; stepchildren, Ronnie and Anna Reese; a brother, 
Wayne Ledford of Little Switzerland; sisters, Hazel McClellan, Vivian Rae and 
Kathy Ledford, all of Spruce Pine; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 
seven step grandchildren ; and five step great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Spruce Pine Freewill Baptist 
Church. Revs. Billy Ledford and Danny Black officiated. Burial was in the 
church cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour 
Sunday at the church.
