JACK M. RIDDLE

SPRUCE PINE – Jack M. Riddle, 82, of Azelia Drive, died Sunday, August 5, 2001 
at his home. He was the son of the late Ranzie L. and Jane Elizabeth Oaks 
Riddle, and husband of the late Vera Davis Riddle. He was also preceded in 
death by a brother, Harold Riddle. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and 
was a former U.S. Postal Service employee. He was a member of Grassy Creek 
Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday School director.
Survivors include one son, Donald Wayne Riddle of Marion; four sisters, Anne 
Michols of Hendersonville, Catherine Revis of Dunnellan, FL, Betty Penly of 
Micaville, and Phyllis Sparks of Bakersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. R.M. Cassity and B.G. McMahan will 
officiate.  Burial will follow in Grassy Creek Memorial Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may
