MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Roy Edgar Riddle, 7 Dec 2004

ASHEVILLE - Roy Edgar Riddle, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at his home. 
A native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late David and Grace 
Willis Riddle. He was a resident of Buncombe County and a life-long resident 
of North Carolina. He worked 42 years with Exxon before retiring in 1982 as 
a marketing manager in Charlotte.

Survivors include his wife Clara Lee Hughes Riddle of the home; one daughter, 
Virginia Riddle Gilbert of Magnolia, TX; two sons, Roy Edward Riddle of Santa 
Barbara, CA and David Latt Riddle of Weaverville; a sister, Mae Greene of 
Penland; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday in the chapel of West Funeral 
Home in Weaverville. Dr. Billy Cline officiated. Burial will be in West 
Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday at the 
funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Mountain Area Hospice,
