MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Grace Davenport Robinson, 14 Jun 2002 ----¤¤¤¤---- GRACE DAVENPORT ROBINSON SPRUCE PINE – Grace Davenport Robinson, 89, passed away on June 14, 2002 at Brian Center Nursing Facility after a long illness. She was receded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ken Robinson, who passed away n 1983; her parents, Robert Massey and Maggie Jane McKinney Davenport; three brothers, Lee Davenport of Newdale and Clay and Scott Davenport of Spruce Pine. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Maurice and Virginia Robinson of Spruce Pine; grandson, Adam Stewart and wife Anaweg; great granddaughter, Alexis; step great grandson, Dylan and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Spruce Pine United Methodist Church, Beaver Creek Homemakers and the Order of the Eastern Star Spruce Pine Chapter 27 since 1954. She and her husband were founders and operators of the former Robinson Chevrolet and Oldsmobile of Spruce Pine, where she retired in 1955 as bookkeeper, Robinson’s Bed and Breakfast of Ft. Myers, FL, where they lived for 27 years, and also a former Safari Campground of Spruce Pine. The family will recieve friends at Webb Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, with the funeral immediately following. There will be no graveside services.
