GEORGE EDWARD ROSE

SPRUCE PINE - George Edward Rose, 68, of Fisher Road, died Tuesday, 
July 8, 2003 in a Linville hospital. He was the son of the late Earl 
and Hattie Buchanan Rose. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, 
Robert and Ray Rose; and a grandson, Lewis Rose Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Jones Rose of the home; a son, Lewis 
Rose of Spruce Pine; daughters, Deborah Thomas of Newland and Deonne 
Silvers of Burnsville; a brother, James Lee Rose of Woodlawn; and four 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Green Valley Baptist 
Church. Revs. Bryan Griffith, Webbie Williams, Terry Robinson, and Rufus 
Biddix officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received 
friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
