MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Grace P. Russell, 13 Feb 2005

SPRUCE PINE - Grace P. Russell, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005. A native of
Ashe County, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella Graybeal
Blackburn, and wife of the late John Russell. When she was a teenager, she and
her sister delivered the U.S. mail on horseback to Boone and Preston.

Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Mcguire of West Jefferson, and Aubrey
Mann of Spruce Pine; three nephews; one niece; and six great nephews.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Howell Cemetery in Ashe
County. The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
