VIRGINIA GOUGE SCHERTZ 
 
GIBSON CITY, IL - Virginia Gouge Schertz, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 
the home of her son in Saybrook, Ill. Formerly of Spruce Pine, she was the 
daughter of the late Lindsay "L.G." and Dessie Dale Gouge, and wife of the 
late Wilbur Schertz. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Willadale 
Gouge.

Survivors include one brother, Max L. Gouge of Spruce Pine; two sons, Lynn 
Schertz of Elgin, Ill, and Dayn Schertz of Saybrook; five grandchildren; and 
five great-granddaughters. 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gibson City Bible Church. 
Burial was in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. The family received 
friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Calbert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in 
Saybrook.
