MAE STEWART SNYDER 

BAKERSVILLE - Mae Stewart Snyder, 76, of Snyder Road, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 
2005 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Avery and Mamie Duncan 
Stewart, and wife of the late Joe Snyder. She served as Assistant Register of 
Deeds for Mitchell County, where she was also Magistrate for over 20 years. She 
was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include an uncle, Bill Duncan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cane Creek Baptist Church. Rev. 
Ronnie Gouge officiated. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the 
service hour. Burial followed in Cane Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be 
made to Mitchell County Animal Shelter/Rescue, 2492 19E Hwy., Spruce Pine, NC 
28777.
