ESTELLE HOILMAN SPARKS 

BAKERSVILLE - Estelle Hoilman Sparks, 83, of Cane Creek Road, died Tuesday, 
Aug. 9, 2006 at Grace Hospital in Morganton. She was the daughter of the late 
Robert A. and Louise Whitson Hoilman, and wife of the late M.F. Sparks. She 
was also preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Sparks. A housewife, she 
was a member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Phillips of Bakersville; two sons, Paul 
Sparks of Glen Alpine and Richard Sparks of Bakersville; nine grandchildren; 
and six great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. The Revs. Russell McKinney and Marvin Miller 
officiated. Burial followed in Phillips Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
