GUY SPARKS 

BAKERSVILLE - Guy Sparks, 77, of Bear Creek Road, died Monday, April 9, 2007. 
He was the son of the late Dewey and Lessie Willis Sparks Sr. He was a self-
employed barber and a lifelong member of Bear Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lee Sparks of the home; two sons, Rick and 
Dale Sparks, both of Bakersville; four grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bear Creek Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Max Holland and Chris Rathbone officiated. Burial was in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour 
Thursday at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville assisted 
the family.
