MAE MCKINNEY SPEAKS 
BAKERSVILLE - Mae McKinney Speaks, 78, of Green Creek Road, died Saturday, Jan. 
14, 2006 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Ralph Speaks. She was a homemaker and member of Little Rock Creek 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Willis of Bakersville; a son, Clayton 
Speaks of Bakersville; one sister, Mary Ingram of Johnson City, TN; nine 
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Dallas Cook and Danny Silvers officiated. 
Burial followed in Major Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Monday at the funeral home.
