GLADYS HANEY STEEN 

CONCORD - Gladys Haney Steen, 84, of Easy Street, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 
at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Carl Haney and Lola Byrd 
Haney. She was retired from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital Dietary Department and 
was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John Clark "J.C." Steen; two daughters, Delores 
Carpenter of Spruce Pine, and Julie Price of Kannapolis; a son, Joel Steen of 
Concord; a sister, Louise Thomas of Concord; six grandchildren; and one great-
grandson. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkwood Baptist Church. The 
Revs. Darrell Coble and Steve Davis officiated. Burial was in Carolina 
Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. 
Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice 
and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 
28081.
