BERTIE LANNING SILVERS

SPRUCE PINE - Bertie Lanning Silvers, 99, of the Estatoe community, died 
Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 in a Spruce Pine health care facility. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Grover Silvers; two brothers Jack and 
Troy Lannine; and three sisters, Lela Silver, Essie Willis, and Mallie 
Lanning.
Survivors include a son, William "Wilkie" Silvers of Morganton; a brother, 
Remus Lanning of Elkins; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Hill Baptist 
Church. Revs. Bud Atkins, Johnny McCarty, and David Johnson officiated. 
Burial was in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received 
friends from 2:30 until the service hour at the church. Webb Funeral Home 
in Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
