BRUCE M. SLAGLE
BAKERSVILLE - Bruce M. Slagle, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002 at Memorial 
Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was the son of the late Earl Slagle, 
and Sally Roberts Slagle of Bakersville. He was also preceded in death by 
a son, Kenny Bruce Slagle. He was a lumberman with Parker Lumber Company.0
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sue Fannon Slagle 
of the home; a sister, Jackie Young of Johnson City, TN; and a brother, 
Carl Slagle of Bakersville.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Red Hill Baptist Church. 
Revs. Randy Wise and Jack Callahan officiated. Burial was at 5 p.m. Friday 
in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday 
at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of 
arrangements
