MABEL SPARKS

SPRUCE PINE - Mabel Sparks, 88, of the Pine Branch community, 
died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 in a Spruce Pine rest home. She 
was the daughter of the late Virgil and Elizabeth Williams 
Brinkley. She was a member of Pine Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Butler of Lancaster, SC; 
a son, Wayne Sparks of Charlotte; five grandchildren; four great 
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pine Branch Baptist 
Church. Rev. Steve Williams officiated. Burial was in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service 
hour at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge 
of arrangements
