MARY SPARKS

BAKERSVILLE - Mary Sparks, 76, of Pitman Road, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, 
in an Asheville hospital. She was the daughter of the late Greene and Maggie 
Davis Pittman. She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ceal Sparks; daughters, Bobbie Young of Marion, 
and Kay Young of Spruce Pine; sisters, Harriett Biddix and Lucy Dellinger, 
both of Spruce Pine, and Lennie Mae Pittman of Bakersville; a brother, Bill 
Pitman of Bakersville; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bear Creek Baptist Church. 
Revs. Chris Rathbone and Vernon Buchanan officiated. Burial was in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral 
Home in Spruce Pine.
