MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Floyd "Red" Spear, 22 May 2005

SPRUCE PINE - Floyd "Red" Spear, 76, of the Estatoe community, died Sunday,
May 22, 2005 at his home. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan
Burton. He was a member of the Spruce Pine Moose Lodge for 22 years and held
several positions on the Board of Officers. He was retired from the U.S.
Postal Service with 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, June Major Spear of the home; a daughter, Cindy
Spear of Orlando, FL; a son, Michael Spear of Groveland, FL; step-sons, Rick
and Dale Anderer; three grandchildren; and one step-grandson. 

A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made
to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777; or Moose
Charities, Moose Heart or Moose Haven, International Headquarters, Moose
Heart, IL 60539-1182. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of
arrangements.
