ELVA STAMEY

SPRUCE PINE - Elva Stamey, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at her 
home. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Maggie Pitman Snyder, 
and wife of the late Monie Stamey. She was also preceded in death by 
a son, Maynard Stamey, and a sister, Julia Blackburn. She was a member 
of Freedom Baptist Church, and was retired from Uniform Rental in 
Charlotte.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Neil Stamey of Spruce Pine; six 
grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church. 
Revs. Greg Hollifield and David Troutman officiated. Burial followed in 
Spruce Pine Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. 
Monday in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
