A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of Effie Ada Peterson Casteel of Burnsville and the late Roe Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Street; a son, Robert “Chris Street” Garland; and infant twin sons. She was retired from Gordon's Furniture. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include one son, Timothy Joe Street of Milligan, TN; a daughter, Gloria Gail Bennett of Erwin, TN; two brothers, Billy Vernon Casteel and Lary Casteel, both of Burnsville; one half brother; two half sisters; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. G.B. Garland and Bill Greer officiated. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Joe M. Street Cemetery in Buladean. The family received friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Unicoi Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
