CHARLES EDWARD STEVENSON
SPRUCE PINE – Charles Edward Stevenson, 79, of Tom Bell Rd., died Monday 
June 10, 2002 in a Spruce Pine Hospital. He was the son of the late Joe 
and Electa Burleson Stevenson and husband of Ina Washburn, who died in 
1997. Mr. Stevenson was also preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Ward, 
and a brother, Lloyd Stevenson. He was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist 
Church. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Stevenson of Spruce Pine; 
son, Gary Stevenson of Spruce Pine; sisters, Ann Brewer of Marion, Myrtle 
McCourry of Newland; Pearl Dilly ans Helen Hahsen, both of California; 
brothers, Ted Stevenson of Bakersville, Bob Stevenson and Leonard Sevenson 
both of Marion; several neices and nephews. Services will be 8 p.m. 
Tuesday at Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Matt Mills will officiate. 
Burial will be in the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens on Wednesday. The 
family will recieve friends from 7 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday
