MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Mary Phillips Stevenson, 26 Nov 2004

BAKERSVILLE - Mary Phillips Stevenson, 73, of Cane Creek Road, died 
Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late 
Calvin and Doris Ollis Phillips. She was a member of Cane Creek 
Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Stevenson of the home; one daughter, 
Rita Garland of Highlands; one son, Gene Stevenson of Bakersville; a 
sister, Martha Holder of Morganton; two grandchildren; and two great 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cane Creek Freewill 
Baptist Church. Revs. Jimmy Arrowood and Julius Hall officiated. Burial 
followed in Cane Creek Cemetery No. 1. The family received friends from 
2 p.m. until the service hour. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville 
was in charge of arrangements.
