CHARLIE M. STYLES

SPRUCE PINE - Charlie M. Styles, 83, of Maple Road, died Monday, 
Apr. 21, 2003 in an Asheville hospital. He was the son of the 
late Sidney Uriah and Louiza Hughes Styles. He was also preceded 
in death by a daughter, Doris McKinney. A retired brick mason, 
he was a member of Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ in 
Elizabethton, TN, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Queen Styles; daughters, Karen 
Buchanan of Nebo, and Shirley Buchanan of Spruce Pine; sons, Eddie 
and Gerald Styles, both of Spruce Pine, and Leonard Styles of Marion; 
18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Dan 
Daisley and Donnie Reagan officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Friday 
in McKinney Gap Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. 
until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home
