EFFIE SWANN

SPRUCE PINE - Effie Swann, 83, of Swann Lane, died Wednesday, July 9, 
2003 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the 
late Jim and Bessie Willis Boone, and wife of the late Arnold Swann. 
She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Sam Swann of Spruce Pine; sisters, Viola Willis 
of Bakersville, and Jennie Griffith and Ema Lou Wilson, both of Estatoe; 
a brother, Homer Boone of Bakersville; three grandchildren; and five 
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday at Beaver Creek Baptist church. 
Revs. Joel Burton, David Johnson and Pat Johnson officiated. Burial was at 
10 a.m. Saturday in Swann Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. 
until the service hour Friday at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine 
was in charge of arrangements.
