BLAINE M. TAYLOR 

PLUMTREE - Blaine M. Taylor, 82, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at his home. He 
was the son of the late Waits and Maude Calhoun Taylor. He was also preceded 
in death by a brother, James Taylor; sisters, Bernice Johnson, Mabel Price and 
Iola Pickering; and a granddaughter, Anna Taylor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran 
of WWII and retired from Tar Hill Mica Company. He was also a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lee Moody Taylor of the home; sons, Charles 
Taylor of Newland, and Blaine W. Taylor of Plumtree; two brothers, Douglas 
Taylor of Clearlake, Wash., and Russell Taylor of Rockport, Wash.; one 
grandson; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. The Rev. Wallace Wise officiated. Burial 
followed in Buck Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family received 
friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Memorial 
donations may be made to Hospice of Avery County, P.O. Box 1357, Newland, NC
