NAOMI THOMAS

SPRUCE PINE – Naomi Thomas, 77, of Warren, PA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2001. 
Formerly of Spruce Pine, she was the daughter of the late Rommie and Bessie 
Silvers Buchanan, and wife of the late Paul Ray Thomas. She was also preceded 
in death by a sister, Jane Robinson; and a brother, Ray Buchanan. A member of 
Rock Springs Baptist Church in Florida, she was also a member of the Women of 
the Moose.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruby MacWithey of Warren, PA, Robert Preston 
of Dalton, GA, and Roxanne Aldridge of Utica, MI; sons, Reese Thomas of 
Dalton, GA and Paul Roger Thomas of Altamont Springs, FL; sisters, Gladys, 
Dorothy and May Smith, and Ruby Ledford, all of Marion; one brother, Frank 
Buchanan of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great 
great grandson.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. 
Rev. David Johnson officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The 
family received friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the church. 
Memorial Donations may be made to the American Red Cross September 11 Fund. 
Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
