FRED TURBYFILL

BAKERSVILLE - Fred C. Turbyfill, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002 in 
a Yancey County nursing home. He was the son of the late Jessie and 
Ellie Wilson Turbyfill, and husband of the late Josephine Sowers 
Turbyfill. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and 
Glenn Turbyfill. He was a WWII veteran and retired from the federal 
government. He was a member and Past Master of Pacific Rim Lodge #567 
Free and Accepted Masons of Long Beach, CA, and a member of Snow Hill 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, friends and caregivers.
Masonic graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
 Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to 
Hospcie of Yancey County, 314 West Main Street, Burnsville, NC 28714. 
Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
