MILDRED TOLLEY WHITSON 
 
JOHNSON CITY, TN - Mildred Tolley Whitson, 77, of Bell Ridge Road, died 
Sunday, June 10, 2007 at her home. Born in Mitchell County, she was the 
daughter of the late Fred and Hassie Horton Tolley, and wife of the late Fred 
Miller and the late Frank Whitson. She was also preceded in death by a son, 
Larry Miller, and a daughter, Bertha Yelton.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Miller of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Terry 
Miller of Johnson City; one daughter, Jo Ann Garland of Bakersville; one 
sister, Linda Light of Johnson City; three brothers, George Kenneth Tolley of 
Mountain City, Tenn., A.Z. Tolley of Johnson City, and David Tolley of 
Bessemer City; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several 
nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Wayne Pruitt officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. 
Thursday in Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral 
home.
