JAMES GILBERT WILLIAMS 

NEWLAND - James Gilbert (Jimmy) Williams, 71, of the Three Mile community, died 
Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005. He was the son of the late Manley and Wilma Franklin 
Williams. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the 82nd Airborne. He 
retired from Baxter Healthcare after more than 30 years of service. He was a 
member of Pisgah United Methodist Church in Linville Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Fender Williams of the home; sons, Henry 
(Hank) Williams and Mark Williams, both of Three Mile; a sister, Mildred 
Guthrie of Three Mile; and his grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Robert Norris and Philip McCall 
officiated. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pisgah United 
Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
