ANNA LOU GARLAND WILLIS 

BAKERSVILLE - Anna Lou Garland Willis, 73, of Beans Creek Road, died Tuesday, 
March 7, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Merritt and Tuskie 
Gardner Garland, and wife of the late Edwin Luther Willis. She was also 
preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Willis; brothers, Marshall, Bruce and 
Deward Garland; and a sister, Gerell Clark. She was a member of Beans Creek 
Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Hill and Angela Willis, both of 
Bakersville; a son, David Willis of Bakersville; sisters, Ruby Birchfield, 
Eloise Staubitz, and Jessie Woody, all of Bakersville; brothers, Guy and Claude 
Garland, both of Bakersville; and six grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Beans Creek Church of Jesus 
Christ. Revs. G.B. Garland and Stokes Cook officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. 
Friday in Lily Branch Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 
the service hour at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was 
in charge of arrangements.
