LUCY SPARKS WILLIS 
 
MARION - Lucy (Granny) Sparks Willis, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at 
Autumn Care of Marion. Raised in the Bandana community, she was the daughter 
of Jeff and Della Howell Sparks, and wife of the late Lonnis Willis.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Turner of Marion, and Peggy Chubb of 
Temple, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-
great-grandchild. 

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Gerald Grindstaff, Mark McKinney 
and Paul Bennett officiated. Burial was in Silver Chapel Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
