ELMA WARD

SPRUCE PINE – Elma Ward, 77, of Highway 19E, died Sunday, November 11, 2001, 
in an Asheville hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Andy and Geneva 
Greene, and wife of the late Waits Dellinger and the late Charlie Ward. She 
was also preceded in death by a brother, Arl Greene. She was a member
of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Joann Sparks of Spruce Pine, Dottie Teems and 
Jean Reese, both of Granite Falls, and June Stafford of Rock Hill, SC; sons, 
Gwyn Ward of N. Wilkesboro, Gary Ward of Morganton, and Tim Ward of 
Bakersville; a brother, Varl Greene of Somerset, KY; 17 grandchildren; 21 
great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church. Bros. 
Danny Harding and Stacy Layne officiated.  Burial followed in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral 
Home in Spruce Pine.
