MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Frank Glenn Whitson, 18 Mar 2005

BAKERSVILLE - Frank Glenn Whitson, 82, died Friday, March 18, 2005. He was the
son of the late Harvey Otis Whitson and Hettie Leona (Onnie) Wilson Whitson.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Mae. An electric welder by
trade, he was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII.
He also served as Mitchell County Register of Deeds for 16 years.

Survivors include his wife, June Elizabeth Woody; two sons, Gerald Whitson of
Bakersville, and Keith Whitson of Boone; one sister, Lois Woody of
Bakersville; three grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes
Funeral Home. Revs. Mark McKinney and Don Stafford officiated. Burial followed
in Green-Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the
service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
