GLADYS WILLIS 

SPRUCE PINE – Gladys Willis, 77, of Walnut Street, died Monday, March 26, 2001 
in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Edd and 
Myrtle Grindstaff Willis. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Zella 
Whisenant and Vestina Willis; brothers, Claude and Youles Willis.  She was a 
member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a sister, Janice Hollifield of Spruce Pine; three nieces; 
and three nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Gerald Grindstaff officiated. 
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral 
home. Memorial donations may be made to the Mitchell County Animal Shelter, 
P.O. Box 308, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
