RETTA MAE WILLIS

BAKERSVILLE - Retta "Rettie" Mae Willis, 86, formerly of the Snow Hill 
community, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Willis. A 
homemaker and lifelong member of Snow Hill Baptist Church, she lived 
here until moving to Hunters Run Apartments in Burnsville 14 years ago. 
For the past year, she was a resident of the Brian Center in Spruce Pine.
Survivors include her daughter, Willa Mae Presnell of Burnsville; a son, 
Harold Dean Willis of Bakersville; five grandchildren; and 12 great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Snow Hill Baptist Church. 
Rev. Gerald Grindstaff officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce 
Pine.
