HOWARD JAMES WILLIS

KNOXVILLE, TN - Howard James Willis, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003 
at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center. Born in Penland, he was a 
Navy veteran of WWII and was employed as a commercial building 
superintendent for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Reinhart Willis; a son, James H. 
Willis; a daughter, Virginia Willis; two sisters, Ruth Spinelli and 
Anna Mae Young; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and 
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary. 
Rev. John Smiley officiated. The body was then taken to Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville for visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday. 
Burial followed in Bear Creek Cemetery.
