VERA LEIGH WILSON 

MARION – Vera Leigh Wilson, 88, died Friday, March 16, 2001, in a McDowell 
County hospital. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late 
Welzie and Maggie Loven Greenlee. She was also preceded in death by three 
husbands, Jack Burnette, Arbil McKinney and Charlie Wilson; and two brothers, 
Bill and Delmar Greenlee. 

Survivors include four sisters, Madge Beltz of Baltimore, MD, Nuree Burnette 
of Hudson, FL, Clara Burnette and Jule Hayes, both of Marion; and several 
nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Ronnie Gouge officiated. Burial was 
in Burnette Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the 
service hour.
