BERNICE BURLESON WILSON

BAKERSVILLE - Bernice Burleson Wilson, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 
at her residence. She was the wife of the late John E. Wilson. She was 
also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Oscar Burleson. She 
was a homemaker and member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Lou Ellen Jones of Candler, and Linda 
Clontz of Marion; one son, Terry Van Wilson of Bakersville; one sister, 
Georgia Phillips of Forest City; one brother, Fred O. Burleson of Spruce 
Pine; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roan Mountain Baptist 
Church. Revs. Steve Stronach and Don Stafford officiated. Burial was in 
Wilson-Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday 
at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Memorial donations may be 
made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
