MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - James Avery Wilson, 18 Mar 2004

BAKERSVILLE - James Avery Wilson, 74, of Wilson Road, died Thursday, 
Mar. 18, 2004 at Ashtonn Park Health Care in Asheville. He was the son 
of the late Avery and Josie Ledford Wilson. He was also preceded in 
death by a son, Harold Van Wilson. A member of Snow Hill Baptist Church, 
he was a security guard for Baxter-Travenol and a veteran of the U.S. 
Army.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Madeline Ollis Wilson of the home; 
brothers, Lloyd Wilson of Florida and Robert Truman of Morganton; a 
sister, Norma Jean Jones of Spruce Pine; two grandchildren; and two 
great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Saturday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Bob McKinney and Gerald 
Grindstaff officiated. Burial was in Snow Hill Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral 
home.
