FAYE JANE WOODY

SPRUCE PINE ­ Faye Jane Woody, 76, of Altapass Road, died Sunday, February
25, 2001 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital after an extended illness. She
was the daughter of the late Milas and Corrie Harrison Woody and a member of
Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She was the church’s first pianist and
continued to play for the homebound until her illness.
Survivors include three sisters, Lizzie and Jeanette Woody both of Spruce
Pine, and Winnie Hall of Marion; one brother, John Woody of Dothan, AL; one
niece; and four nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Berry Chapel Baptist
Church. Revs. Greg Hollifield and George Gouge officiated. Burial was in the
church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Webb
Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Memorial donations may be made to: Hospice of
