MARY RHYNE WOODY
SPRUCE PINE – Mary Rhyne Woody, 68, widow of Russell woody, died Monday 
June 10, 2002 in a Yancey Couny rest home. Russell preceded her in death 
in 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Spruce Pine, where she 
worked in the nursery for many years. She also was a caregiver to about 
100 children over the years. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Vance 
and husband Bobby of Harrisburg; brother, Lee Rhyne of Johnson City; 
sister, Stella Buchanan of Plumtree; four grandchildren and five great 
grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. 
Rev. David Vess will officiate. Burial will be in the Berry Chapel Cemetery. 
The family will recieve friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday 
at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Yancey County, 
314 Wet Main St., Burnsville, NC 28714. Condolences may be e-mailed to the
