INA BUCHANAN WOODY

BAKERSVILLE - Ina Buchanan Woody, 81, of Staggerweed Road, died 
Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was 
the daughter of the late Thomas Aaron and Mattie Buchanan, and 
wife of the alte Roe Woody. She was also preceded in death by a 
daughter, Dorothy Street; and six brothers, Oakley, Sam, Ottis, 
Ira, Claude and Wayne Buchanan. A member of Cane Creek Freewill 
Baptist Church, she was retired from Ellens Knitting Mill and had 
worked part-time for the U.S. Forest Service.
Survivors include four sons, Delaney and Bruce Woody, both of 
Bakersville, Burton Woody of Clarksville, TN, and Mike Woody of 
Micaville; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great 
great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three step great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Jimmy Arrowood 
and David Lee officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cane 
Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may 
be made to the American Cancer Society, Mitchell County Unit, P.O. 
Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368.
