RUTH HENLINE YOUNG 

BAKERSVILLE - Ruth Henline Young, 94, of Cane Creek Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 
14, 2006 at Haywood Lodge and Retirement Center in Waynesville. She was the 
daughter of the late Julius and Cordelia Buchanan Henline, and wife of the 
late Raleigh Young. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose 
Rathbone; two sisters, Belle Williams and Clara Jones; and two brothers, Paul 
and Walter Henline. She was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church, where 
she served as Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include three daughters, Doris Pittman and Louise McKinney, both of 
Bakersville, and Shirley Gaddis of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; 12 great 
grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday at Roan Mountain Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Mark McKinney and Max Holland officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. 
Saturday in Green-Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. 
until the service hour Friday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to 
Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville assisted the family.
