CHARLES W. YOUNG
MANCHESTER, MD – Charles William Young, 75, died Monday, May 20, 2002 
at his residence. A native of Bakersville, he was the son of the late 
Pink W. and Hettie Mae Gouge Young. He was also preceded in death by 
his brothers John Coleman “JC” Young and Leo Young. He was retired from 
Bethlehem Steel Company after 38 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Frances Young of the home; daughters, 
Deborah Stein of Rosedale, and Lisa Young of Johnson City, TN; brothers, 
William Young of Whitehall, and Edwin Young of Florida; sisters, Betty 
Marquardt of Whitehall, Jennie Lee Anderson of Pasadena, and Virginia 
Bach of Florida; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and 
Chapel in Westminister, MD. Rev. Curtis Morris officiated. Burial was in 
Highview Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. and 
7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
