MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - WILLS - J. W. Bailey, Sr., 1 Feb 1913 ----¤¤¤¤---- WILL OF J. W. BAILEY STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MITCHELL COUNTY I, J. W. BAILEY, SR. of the County of Mitchell and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament. 1st. My Executor hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses together with all my just debts out of the first moneys that may come into his hands belonging to my estate. 2nd. After selling one half interest in my stock of goods off which I owned on June the 1st 1911 to GEO. M. YOUNG for the payment of all debts I give and devise to my daughter CARRY L. BAILEY a one half interest of the remaining stock of goods which I owned on June the 1st 1911, and which stock of goods is located in the building known as the J. W. Bailey store house, said stock on said date to wit: June 1st 1911 was estimated to be worth about one thousand dollars. I give and devise one half interest as above stated. 3rd. I give and devise to my son-in-law GEO. M. YOUNG the other one half interest in the stock of goods above described and which stock I owned June the 1st 1911 the said GEO. M. YOUNG agreeing to pay and having already paid all my indebtedness incurred by said store, up to the first day of June, 1911. 4th. I hereby constitute and appoint my trusted friend and son-in-law GEO. M YOUNG Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intents and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof, hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof the said J. W. BAILEY SR. do hereunto set my hand and seal, this the 1st day of February 1913. J. W. Bailey (seal) Signed sealed and published and declared by the said J. W. Bailey, Sr. to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who, at his request and in his presence, and in the presence of each other do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.
