T. Steele, Adm of J. Green 24 Oct. 1859 Bond State of North Carolina County Know all Men by these Presents, That we, Thomas Steele, R. J. Steele, Jeremiah Luther are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina, in the sum of (unreadable) Thousand Dollars, current money, to be paid to the said State; to which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 4th day of October A. D. 1859. The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That if the above- bounden Thomas Steele Administrator of all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Jincey Green deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a perfect inventory of all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, knowledge, or possession of any person or persons, for him and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, on attested copy thereof, to the County Court where orders for administration passed within ninety days after the date of these presents; and the same goods, chattels and credits, and all other goods, chattels and credits of the deceased at the time of his death, or which will come into the hands or possession of the said Thomas Steele or into the hands or possession of any person or persons for do well and truly administer according to law; and further do make, or cause to be made a true account of his said administration, within two years after the date of these presents, and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the said administrator account, (the same being first examined and allowed by the Governor and Council, Superior or County Court,) shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively, as the same shall become due, pursuant to the true intent and meaning of the act in that case made and provided. And if it shall appear that any will or testament was made by the deceased, and the executor or executors therein named do exhibit the same into Court, making a request to have it allowed and approved of accordingly, if the said Thomas Steele, R. J. Steele, Jeremiah Luther above bounden, being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said letters of administration (approbation of such testament being first had and made in the said Court,) then this Obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in force and virtue. Luther (seal) State of North Carolina In Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, Montgomery County Oct Term 1859 Whereas, it hath been made to appear to our said Court, that Jincey Green late of Mississippi hath departed this life, and hath left no last Will and Testament as to the estate in this county in writing and whereas R. T. Steele made application to said Court, that he may be admitted to administer on the estate of the said Jincey Green deceased, and that Letters of Administration on the said deceased’s estate to him may issue, having complied with the requisites of the law in such case made and provided. It is therefore ORDERED by our said Court, that Letters of Administration on the said deceased’s estate issue accordingly, THESE are therefore, to authorize and empower you, the said R. T. Steele to administer on all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said Jincey Green deceased, that you pay all the just debts of the deceased, and deliver the residue of her estate to those having a right by law; and that you return, on oath, a true and perfect inventory of said estate unto this Court, within ninety days from the date hereof.
